Moonstone Australian Shepherds is a small hobby kennel located in the northwestern hills of Connecticut.  I have been training and showing dogs for over 30 years.  My introduction to the Aussie was back in 1984.  I was attending obedience classes in Harwinton, CT.  I met Diane Dodge of Meri-Mor and, at the time, Debbie (Partridge) St. Jacques of Beauwood.  I fell in love with their two Aussies, Scout and Russ. I could not believe the brains and beauty of these dogs. I had to have one.

My first Aussie was a little black tri bitch from herding lines, Pine Needle Farms Lady Sheena from The Richardson’s in MA.  About a year later I got a dog from Debbie, a Russ son, a red merle by the name of Ch. Rossy’s Red Rover, CD.  I trained and trialed Rover.  Rover was my heart and soul. I went to my first ASCA Specialty in Springfield, MA in 1986.  I entered Novice A and walked away with first place with a score of 196.5. That was all I needed…the Aussie bug got me.  Since then I have titled numerous Aussies and German Shepherds in both conformation and obedience.

Our belief at Moonstone is to promote an Australian Shepherd with a sound mind, good temperament, proper structure and breed type, intelligence and instinct.  Our Aussies and our Aussie puppies are home raised.  They are brought up with children, other dogs, and cats. We try our best so we can prepare them for the real world.  Our dogs are ASCA/AKC registered.
